You know you are from Venda when....


1. You see a stray dog as soon as your taxi or car from Sthalala reaches Tshakhuma


2. You pronounce Zimbabwe as "Zimbagwe" or Sixty as "Sigisty"

3. Your parents expect you to choose medicine or engineering as a careea stream

4. You refer to Limpopo as the 'Eden of Africa' and are constantly in awe of the price of Mangoes or Avocadoes in other parts of the country

5. You are sensitive about being called a "Venda"

6. You know who Cyril Ramaphosa is (duh!)

7. You know Mbilwi to be the best Secondary/Matric school in the province

8.  You use "Condrinki/Cold drink" as a generic term for all soft drinks

9. You think every other culture in  South Africa except "Tsonga" is better than you

10. You play along to people from other cultures calling the place you are from "Venda"

11. You don't know any other weather seasons besides Summer

12. You take the insult "You don't look Venda" as a compliment


13. You feel a sense of pride whenever ANYTHING Venda related is shown on Television/Radio/Newspaper (SHUMELA VENDA right?)


14. You know what a Mukhada is (LOL)



15. You are multi-lingual yet somehow you still have "the Venda accent" (according to other people)

16. The only alternative place where you can buy any expensive item for cheap is "Magulani"

17.  The only way your community regards you as "successful" in life is if you own a Motor Vehicle



18. Whenever you do something embarrassing in, out or around Venda it generates responses such as "ehh Muvenda"


19. People ask you if you have eaten "Mashonzha" but in essence you consider Mukusule as a healthier form of biltong

20.  You have ever been asked if you need some type of Passport to enter South Africa


And lastly
 if you are PROUDLY VENDA
